About Handy Hour
Who I Am
Handy Hour is a solo handyman based in Winnipeg. I work alone — one job at a time, one person on site. No subcontractors, no crews, no surprises about who shows up.
I do not have a big company behind me, and I think that is a good thing. When you hire me, you talk to me directly, you get a quote from me, and I am the one who does the work. If something comes up on the job, I tell you straight and we figure it out together.
My approach: I quote from photos before booking, I show up when I say I will, I work cleanly, and I let you know if a job turns out to need a licensed trade instead of a handyman. Honesty costs nothing.
What I Do
I cover seven categories of home maintenance and repair in Winnipeg:
- Handyman Services — TV mounting, furniture assembly, shelving and blinds, caulking, grab bars
- Drywall — Repairs, popcorn ceiling removal, taping and finishing
- Painting — Interior, cabinet painting, deck/fence staining, single-storey exterior
- Carpentry — Trim and baseboards, door installation and repair, window and screen repair
- Flooring — Laminate and vinyl plank, backsplash tile and regrouting
- Exterior Home Services — Eavestrough cleaning and repair, pressure washing, window cleaning, fence/deck repair, Christmas lights
- Junk Removal — Furniture, appliances, mattresses, renovation debris, garage and basement cleanouts
What I Do Not Do
Some jobs in Manitoba require a licensed tradesperson — not a handyman. I do not do electrical work of any kind, not even swapping a light fixture or outlet. I do not do plumbing — not even a leaky faucet or running toilet. No gas work, no HVAC, and no asbestos removal.
If a job you describe turns out to need one of those trades, I will tell you clearly and point you in the right direction. Read more: What a Handyman Can and Cannot Do in Manitoba.
